Norway’s oldest food festival – in Ålesund

Every year, usually by the end of summer, Ålesund holds it’s annualy traditional food festival. It’s the oldest food festival in Norway, celebrating it’s 41th year in 2025. When visiting Ålesund between August 14th – 16th you will come to a weekend full of gastronomic experiences, from a traditional farmers market, to a modern exotic streetfood.

The town center will be filled up with gastronomic exhibitors, including a large farmer’s market. There will also be street food trucks as well as delicious confectionary stands. You can buy local products from the vendors, and maybe get a small tasting sample. For beverages there will be a large wine tent at the venue, hosted by the Norwegian owned wineproducer Vino Piemonte. There will also be a beer festival, with local and national breweries presented.
Tickets for the beer festival will be sold at the door.

For the kids there will be a child friendly festival area with reading sessions (in Norwegian) as well as suitable activities for the younger ones, and the possibility to prepare your own white fish.

Restaurant tent: Thursday – Saturday 11 am – 6 pm
Beer tent: Thursday and Friday 4 pm – 10 pm / Saturday 14 am – 11 pm
